The Complete Supply Checklist for Commercial Christmas Light Installations
The Complete Supply Checklist for Commercial Christmas Light Installations
Nothing kills a profitable install day faster than realizing you're missing a critical component while you're 30 feet up on a ladder. This checklist covers everything you need for a professional commercial Christmas light installation — from materials to tools to safety gear.
Print this out, tape it to your supply trailer wall, and check it before every job.
Lighting Materials
Bulbs
- ☐ C9 LED bulbs — primary color(s) for the job (warm white, pure white, red, green, multi)

Wire & Cord
- ☐ SPT-1 C9 socket cord — pre-measured for the job OR a spool for custom lengths

Attachment & Mounting Hardware
- ☐ All-purpose light clips — for shingles and gutters
- ☐ Heavy-duty tuff clips — for thicker surfaces and commercial applications

- ☐ Cable staples — for permanent wood-surface installations
- ☐ Rope/twine — for tree canopying and overhead runs
Electrical & Power
- ☐ GFCI adapters or outlets — required for outdoor electrical (code compliance)
- ☐ Outdoor-rated power timers — set on/off schedules for the client
- ☐ Power stakes — outdoor outlet extensions for ground-level power access
- ☐ Voltage tester/multimeter — verify circuits are live and wattage is safe
- ☐ Electrical tape — outdoor-rated, for weatherproofing connections
- ☐ Wire nuts — for any permanent wiring connections
